Windows 10 is a Microsoft operating system used by millions of people and businesses globally since 2015. In October 2025, however, Microsoft will end its support for the Windows 10 operating system and stop providing bug fixes, customer support and security updates. This is known as a system reaching ‘end of life’ or EOL. Microsoft is focussing on its Windows 11 operating system going forward, and the National Cyber Security Centre recommends updating all devices to Windows 11 by 14th October 2025, which is when Windows 10 reaches EOL. If you’ve bought a new device recently or installed updates to your Windows 10 machine, updating the operating system to Windows 11, there’s no need to worry.
