About Seawing Flying Club Southend

As a long-established flying club and training organisation, Seawing had a number of systems and services that needed updating and bringing together.

Email and productivity services needed to be moved onto a more modern cloud platform, while other services also required migration away from older infrastructure.

The club’s DNS and domain services formed an important part of the project, with changes needing to be carefully managed to avoid disruption to email, website and other online services.

Seawing also needed a new website that better represented the club and made it easier for prospective students, members and visitors to find information about flight training, aircraft and membership.

The overall requirement was straightforward: simplify the environment, modernise the core systems and have one IT partner able to support everything moving forward.

Aspgate worked with Seawing to modernise its core IT services and bring a number of separate systems under one support partner.

This included migrating email and productivity services to Microsoft 365, moving services into the cloud, managing the DNS migration and creating a new website for the club.

The aim was to simplify the overall environment, reduce reliance on older systems and give Seawing a more reliable platform for its day-to-day operations.

Aspgate continues to support the organisation with its Microsoft 365 environment, cloud services, DNS and wider IT requirements, providing both remote and local support from our South Essex team.

Although Seawing operates within the aviation sector, it is also very much an education and training organisation.

Its instructors provide structured theoretical and practical training to student pilots working towards recognised aviation licences and ratings.

That creates many of the same technology requirements seen across schools, colleges, universities and specialist training providers: reliable communications, secure access to information, dependable cloud services and responsive IT support.
